I grew up in a small Mississippi town with my four brothers. We spent our days playing outside, climbing trees, fishing, riding horses and building make-shift bike ramps. My father was a mechanic and my mother a seamstress.
My family is extremely close, and we still love gathering around a table loaded with good ole soul food. Besides spending time with my family, I enjoy hiking, cycling, visiting museums, reading legal thrillers, and trying new restaurants. I graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi in 1998 with a degree in Criminal Justice. After college I became a law enforcement officer. My interest in teaching began to develop after I worked as Juvenile Officer for the Amite County Sheriff's Department, so I went back to school and worked to receive my teaching credentials. I love, love, love teaching, and I believe that my students love me as a teacher. Because I am a life-long learner, it is my goal to instill the love of learning in each of my students. |
